Post reporter, Room 9 fixture, bids adieu

city hall insider

New York Post reporter Frankie Edozien, who has covered City Hall for the paper since 1999 and recently broke the exclusive story on the City Council’s questionable budget practices, just announced he will be leaving the Post to take a job with NYU as director of the Reporting Africa program in Accra Ghana.

Edozien also won a 2008 Kaiser Family foundation fellow for global health reporting. He will travel to Uganda and South Africa over the next few weeks.

Afterward, he will join the faculty at NYU, where he also will be an associate professor in the fall and spring.

He remains editor of The African. www.africanmag.com

“I have enjoyed working with all of you and look forward to our continuing relationship, but as some of you know reporting for Africa is a passion,” Edozien wrote in an email to city reporters.

He will be missed.
